The Chicago White Sox selected the lefty in the 38th round of the 1998 Draft and he made only 36 minor league appearances before taking the mound for the big-league team on July 16, 2000. Since then he has been a model of consistency and durability, pitching at least 200 hundred innings a year from 2001-2006. Buehrle has also earned himself some serious immortality, as he played a key role in the Sox winning the 2005 World Series and, on April 18, 2007, he threw a no-hitter against the Texas Rangers at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
